About me

I completed my undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University with a major in Psyhology and a minor in Sociology. My graduate studies occurred at Wayne State University, where I obtained my Masters Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Community Counseling. Shortly after obtaining my Masters in Counseling, I re-enrolled and completed my specilalization studies in School Counseling, while also obtaining my Clincal Supervision Certification and Education Specialist Degree. After working in the community for for 15 years with at-risk families, I worked for the State of Michigan provided individualized Counseling with various-diagnosed individuals. Within that timeframe, I also taught as a professor with Ashland University (Theological Seminary) in areas such as vocational counseling, group therapy, and group dynamics.

I have a strong desire to assist people suffering from various emotional and relationtional challenges. I do not take on an authoritative position as a therapist, but as a professional mental health practitioner who walks alongside my clients in their development and progression towards jointly-developed goal-directive behaviors and adaptive thinking strategies.

You can expect that my jargon, demeanor, and approach will be one that is professional, yet welcoming. I realize that every therapist is not the best fit with every client. However, with my services, it should feel apparent that I am making a genuine effort to meet you at the point of your need, while also encouraging you to take experiential and decisive states towards healing and growth.
