What I learned this week

A friend of mine is in stage 4 cancer. The doctors have informed him that there is nothing left for them to do at this point.

Many people suffer from medical illnesses for which there is no cure. It is easy to see how such conditions can cause lethargy, sadness, problems with sleep, anxiety, racing thoughts, and many other symptoms.

Having an illness that won't go away can make a person feel like they want to go away. But not this man, this friend of mine. No, my friend has decided that he will continue working and volunteering at his church.

I've never known someone with his condition decide to do such a thing. However, I am greatly encouraged and humbled by his actions. He gave me permission to share this information with others, with the hope that it will encourage them and be a testimony.

Are you struggling with depression? If so, consider scheduling a free 15 minute consultation.
